Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, Chairman of United Nigeria Airlines and a frontline aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed confidence in his ability to unseat the incumbent governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, in the forthcoming governorship election
Okonkwo made this declaration while addressing party stakeholders at the new APC State Secretariat in Awka on Sunday. He appealed to the APC National Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, and the party’s National Working Committee to consider him the consensus candidate for the election.
Ganduje had earlier stated that the party would prefer a consensus candidate to avoid the stress and financial burden of holding a conventional primary election. Okonkwo believes he is the best candidate to fly the APC flag in the election, promising to uphold the values of good governance, transparency, and service to the people of Anambra State.
If elected, Okonkwo plans to focus on transforming the lives of Ndi-Anambra through unprecedented growth, peace, and development. He also pledged to work with President Bola Tinubu to ensure the vision of a greater Anambra State is achieved for the benefit of all residents, irrespective of tribe, ethnic region, or political affiliations
