An initiative was taken by Dr Nosa Aigbe Lebarty, Chief Executive Officer, Lebarty Medical Hospital in Edo state to take a survey of the public on how to serve humanity better. The team from Obaland TV went into the market, student environment and orphan homes to ask market women and other partisans, students and the orphans about hospital experiences and changes they seek.
A lot of complaints came from the reception individuals received from medical personnels and advised that this new medical facility should always attend to patients first before anything, as they are there to save lives. They also complained about the price of getting a hospital card as this is expensive and most times delays treatment. They pleaded for more competent doctors and nurses to carefully attend to patients and relate with them respectfully.
The students complained bitterly about the same issue and hoped this Medical establishment will take a new approach. Orphan Homes were also visited and they were asked ways they can be assisted, which they took out time to explain, they also expressed their gratitude for the visit.
The survey ended with a Medical Outreach where the community, both young and old, as well as the orphans participated. Medical check up for the eyes, was carried out extensively as well as other general body check up. Drugs were administered and palliatives given. The people went home happy and satisfied. It was indeed a memorable event and a thoughtful initiative.
