In a recent operation in Ogbologbo community, Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State, the Rivers State Police Command has announced that two notorious kidnappers/criminals were killed during a shootout with police operatives. The suspects were identified as foot soldiers to a kidnap kingpin known as Ikem Thankgod, also known as General 2man. General 2man is believed to be responsible for several killings in and around the Ahoada area of the state.
The police spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, stated that General 2man was linked to the murder of cult leader Gift Okpara, also known as 2Baba, who orchestrated the killing of a former Divisional Police Officer of Ahoada Division, SP Baking Angbshim. The spokesperson further revealed that General 2man had been involved in various nefarious activities, including kidnapping and burying people alive.
During the operation, General 2man and his gang opened fire on the police tactical team. Although General 2man managed to escape, two of his loyalists were subdued and killed. The police recovered two loaded AK-47 rifles and eight magazines from the gang. Efforts are currently underway to apprehend General 2man and the remaining members of his gang and bring them to justice.
The Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Dish, commended the tactical team for their efforts and reiterated the commitment of the police force to fighting crime in the state. The Rivers State Police Command continues to prioritize the safety and security of residents and will not relent in their efforts to rid the state of criminal elements.
