A 42-year-elderly person, Okwudili Orji, was charged on Tuesday for supposedly taking iron poles worth N5m in the Ejigbo area of Lagos State.
Orji was charged on two counts verging on taking before Boss Justice Patrick Nwaka at the Yaba Judges’ Court.
The examiner,examiner, Cyril Ejiofor, let the court know that the offenses Orji perpetrated repudiated Areas 314 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
The charge read to a limited extent, “That you, Okwudili Orji, at some point in the long stretch of September 2022, around 9am, at Bucknor Intersection, Ejigbo, Lagos State, in the Lagos Authoritative Region, did deceitfully got iron poles worth N5m, from one Uzoma Patrick, a portrayal which you knew to be misleading, and consequently perpetrated an offense culpable under Segment 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.”
The respondent, be that as it may, argued not blameworthy to the charges.
The guard counsel, N. C. Okparauwa, begged the court to concede his client to bail in the most liberal terms.
With no contention against the request by the arraignment, the judge conceded the respondent to bail in the amount of N1m with two capable guarantees in like aggregate.
He requested that the guarantees should be profitably utilized in Lagos State and not independently employed, and furthermore should introduce a three years charge freedom receipt obvious by the court
