In the Nnokwa community in the Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, a woman named Nnaemaka Nwosu is said to have set a policewoman and Abuja building collapse: Nine evacuated, rescue operations suspendedher two children on fire on Sunday.
that the suspect, who belonged to the Amawbia community and was divorced from her husband, became homeless and was in desperate need of a place to live when the policewoman offered to let her stay in her apartment.
A source in the space said Nwosu was living with the cop and her relatives until a contention that declined into a battle followed among her and the cop.
According to the source, Nwosu allegedly struck the policewoman in the head with a pestle during the fight, causing her to fall and lose consciousness.
“After that, the suspect tied the policewoman and her children together with rope and set them ablaze right inside the room,” the source stated. The police officer and her kids were scorched alive along with the structure.
“She (Nwosu) was trying to escape the vicinity when she was captured by local vigilance members and some of the villagers who were attracted by the fire.”
After initially claiming that the woman and her children were boiling hot water when a gas cylinder exploded, the suspect later admitted to the crime and explained how she carried it out.
Reached, the state Police Advertising Official, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, who affirmed the episode, said the suspect had been moved to the State Criminal Examination Division for additional examination for indictment.
He stated that the mortuary had received the bodies of the policewoman and her children.
Ikenga said, “Fundamental data uncovered that the police officer obliged the suspect while she was looking for a house. The two ladies had a conflict which brought about a battle before the suspect hit the cop’s head with a pestle.
“While she became oblivious, she attached her with her two kids and set them on fire. The bodies of the casualties have been recuperated and saved in the funeral home. Further improvement will be imparted.”
