A police officer has been arrested by the Ekiti State Police Command for shooting and killing two individuals at an accident scene in Ado Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State. The incident occurred late at night and involved a Lexus car and a Jincheng motorcycle in the Omisanjana area of Ado-Ekiti.


According to witnesses, chaos ensued after the accident, and stray bullets from one of the police officers at the scene struck two people. The victims were rushed to the hospital but unfortunately died before receiving medical attention.
Irate youths gathered at the scene, attempting to prevent the driver of the car from escaping after injuring the motorcycle rider. The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, Mr Adeniran Akinwale, deployed the State Traffic Section to the scene to maintain order and ensure the safety of the victims.
However, the situation escalated when the police officers faced resistance from the angry crowd, who wanted to take matters into their own hands. In the midst of the chaos, one of the officers accidentally fired a shot that fatally injured two individuals.
