The Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has disclosed that it has opened a (Situation Room) to handle reports that has to do with the 2024 governorship poll in Edo State and other related state and national issues .
Making the disclosure in the Press Centre in Benin city, the Chairman of the NUJ, Edo state Council, Comrade Festus Alenkhe, said that the creation of the Situation Room had become a necessity to protect politicians and other high networth individuals from falling into the arms of impostors who in recent times have formed the habit of diverting such individuals to obscure locations in the name of addressing press briefings.
“Edo NUJ Situation Room (SR) has been created by the Council and is opened for whoever is in need of its services which is mainly press briefing especially as it relates to the 2024 governorship election and other related state and national issues.
Comrade Festus Alenkhe , said the concepts is a well thought out idea to protect politicians and other high network individuals from falling into the arms of impostors who may end up not doing the job in line with the dictates of the journalism profession thereby attracting litigations.
