Walter Mulombo, the Nigeria Country Representative for the World Health Organization, stated on Saturday that Nigeria was in urgent need of vaccines to close the gap in the number of children who had never received one. This was while he said that countries were treated unfairly as a result of the Covid-19 vaccination and called for cooperation to improve local vaccine production capacity. He spoke in Abuja during the transfer of the pentavalent vaccine to Nigeria from Indonesia. He stated, "We believe your contribution will go a long way as Nigeria is accelerating to close that gap. Nigeria is in dire need of vaccines to close the gap of zero-dose children." It is crucial to demonstrate our support for the South-South collaboration route. We have long endured injustice as a result of the Covid-19 vaccination. We hope that in addition to this gesture, additional collaboration will be established to enhance our capacity for local vaccine production in our respective nations.
