The principal officers of the National Assembly will be visiting Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, to support the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their quarter-final clash against Angola at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Senate Committee on Sports chairman, Senator Kawu Sumaila, announced this and also mentioned that members of the National Assembly joint committees on sports will be joining them. Senator Kawu expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Nigerian team and expressed confidence in their victory against Angola. The winner of the match between Nigeria and Angola will advance to face the winner of Cape Verde vs. South Africa in the semifinals. The AFCON tournament started on January 13 and will conclude on February 11.
