On the date of June 7th, 2023 in Macherata, a medical doctor and psychologist were granted an interview by the court to conduct a reassessment of the mental condition of the perpetrator, Felipe Ferlazzo. The family has reported that during the most recent hearing, two individuals who were brought from prison testified that the perpetrator exhibited disruptive and inappropriate behaviour.
These witnesses confirmed this testimony in Civitanova Marche on May 25, 2023, where a new psychiatric evaluation of Filippo Ferlazzo was conducted to determine whether he was capable of understanding and intending to commit the murder of Alika Ogorchukwu, and thus whether he should be held criminally responsible for the act. The family of Alika maintains that Ferlazzo is of sound mind, citing his previous romantic relationship and the absence of any prior reports of violent behaviour or homicide.
Recall Additionally, it was reported that the decedent’s corpse remained prone on the pavement, situated on the sidewalk adjacent to commercial establishments and in plain view of pedestrians, while law enforcement personnel draped a sheet of white fabric over the remains. Upon the arrival of the police team led by Claudio Rastrelli, the perpetrator was apprehended.
The current preliminary state has been under the monitoring of the Nigerian embassy with the leadership of His Excellency Mfawa Omini Abam and Ugochukwu Babatunde Onuzulike, Head Consular & Immigration Division, as they have been duly informed.
