Apapa Accident: No Arrest Yet as Police Impound Tanker

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that no arrest has been made following a tanker accident on Monday, where a diesel-laden tanker fell on the Apapa-Liverpool Road bridge, spilling its contents. The police, however, have impounded the tanker involved in the accident.

The driver and his motor boy, who sustained injuries, are receiving medical treatment. According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred when the tanker driver, allegedly driving recklessly, lost control and fell onto the bridge, causing panic and traffic disruption.

Residents and passersby rushed to the scene to scoop the spilled diesel, despite the danger of fire or explosion. The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service attributed the crash to brake failure, while the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) assured that the driver would face sanctions after investigations
