Lagos, Nigeria Nigerian energy company Ardova Plc has been formally recognized by global energy major Shell PLC for its exceptional contribution to the lubricants market, underscoring the firm’s growing influence and operational excellence in West Africa’s largest economy.
At the 2025 Shell Macro Distributors Cup held in Milan, Italy, Ardova Plc was presented with the coveted Special Recognition Award an honour reserved by Shell to acknowledge outstanding performance, strategic commitment, and market leadership among its international distribution partners.
According to the award citation, Shell commended Ardova’s “delivery focus” and its pivotal role as Shell’s authorized macro distributor in Nigeria, where it has consistently expanded the reach of high‑performance lubricant solutions across commercial and industrial segments.
Receiving the accolade on behalf of Ardova Plc, Korede Odufuwa, Assistant General Manager, Shell Lubricants Marketing, emphasized that the recognition reflects collective effort. “This honour belongs to the entire workforce and the strength of our strategic partnership with Shell,” Odufuwa said, reaffirming Ardova’s commitment to quality and customer service in the lubricants business.
Ardova’s Managing Director, Moshood Olajide, described the award as a benchmark milestone within the company’s long term growth strategy. He highlighted the shared vision between Ardova and Shell to drive innovation and make premium energy solutions more accessible in Nigeria’s competitive market.
The recognition amplifies Ardova’s standing within the downstream energy sector, where the firm has a diversified portfolio that includes distribution of petroleum products and manufacturing of lubricants such as Super V and Visco 2000, alongside its role as the sole authorized distributor of Shell branded lubricants in Nigeria.
The shell Distributors Cup an elite global assembly of Shell’s network partners is designed to bolster cooperation, share insights, and reward distributors that significantly enhance performance and market penetration. Analysts say the accolade not only reflects Ardova’s competitive edge, but also signals investor confidence in Nigeria’s lubricant and energy ecosystem.
As Ardova Plc pushes ahead with its expansion agenda, including upgrades to its Apapa blending and logistics facilities, the firm’s enhanced global recognition is expected to fortify its market position and attract further strategic collaborations within and beyond Nigeria’s oil and gas value chain.
