Army Holds Supply, Transport Conference in Benin to Boost Operational Efficiency

The Nigerian Army has commenced a two-day Supply and Transport Conference in Benin City to strengthen logistics and improve operational effectiveness across its missions.

The conference, led by the Commander, Corps of Supply and Transport, Major General Nansak Danjuma Shagaya, opened on March 24, 2026, at the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport (NASST).

Speaking, Shagaya stressed the critical role of logistics in modern warfare, noting that operational success depends on reliable and responsive support systems amid evolving security challenges.

He said the forum provides an opportunity for commanders to review operations, address challenges, and develop strategies to enhance efficiency.

In his remarks, the Commandant of NASST, Major General Adebayo Olatunde Adegbite, said the conference would foster collaboration and align logistics efforts with the Army’s mission.

Highlights include the commissioning of a Soldiers’ Dining Hall, a remodeled Driving Simulation Centre, and the unveiling of Col I. Taiwo Crescent.

The event will end on March 26 with a ceremony in honour of retired generals of the Corps.
