As part of NigeriaDecides2023, PDP takes the Senate seat for Akwa Ibom South.

Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District: Peoples Democratic Party’s Ekong Samson.

On Monday, the Collation Centre in Eket Local Government Area was where the Returning Officer, Effanga Effanga, made the official announcement of the election results.

According to the results announced by Mr Effanga, Mr Samson received 79,327 votes, with Mr Martyns Udo-Inyang of the All Progressive Congress (APC) coming in second with 33,256 votes.

Henry Dominic of the Labour Party received 17,760 votes, while Ephraim Inyang-Eyen of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) received 19,336 votes.

Twelve of the state’s local government districts, known as Federal Constituency seats, were up for grabs, and twelve different political parties vied for them.
