As the Jigawa community repels robbers, police rescue a wounded suspect.

A group of armed robbers have been operating on the Hadejia highway, but Tage village residents in Jigawa State’s Kafin Hausa Local Government Area have stood their ground.

One of the criminals was detained as a result of the community’s resistance, and others followed suit.

One of the robbers was severely injured by community members, according to an eyewitness who spoke with reporters on Wednesday.

Lawan Adam, a spokesman for the Jigawa State Police, confirmed the occurrence by stating that the police received information that a group of armed robbers had blocked Tage from the Hadejia highway and robbed individuals of their possessions.

Adam said that when police arrived on the scene, they “found that a group of people gathered and faced the hoodlums, and as a result, they inflicted serious machete cuts on one of the robbers by name Abdullahi Abubakar of Hago village.” As a result, the hoodlums were able to escape with the money.

According to the spokesperson, the wounded robber was saved by the police and transported to the General Hospital in Kafin Hausa for treatment.

He said life ammo, one exhausted cartridge, and the amount of N37,000.00 were recuperated from the suspect.
