Bandits launched a fresh attack on Isapa community in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, attempting to abduct locals. However, vigilante members successfully repelled the attack, exchanging gunshots with the bandits.
The community alerted the state government, which directed soldiers from Eruku to intervene. No casualties were reported among the vigilantes, and the bandits were repelled.
Isapa is about 5km from Eruku, where 3 people were killed and 38 kidnapped from a church last week. The Treasurer of Isapa Peoples Union, Abayomi Daramola, confirmed the attack, praising the vigilantes’ bravery and thanking the state government for swift action.
