Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has announced a remarkable reduction in travel time along the Benin-Iruekpen Federal Government Road following his administration’s swift intervention on the once-deplorable route.
Speaking after personally traveling through the rehabilitated stretch, Governor Okpebholo expressed delight over the improved state of the road and the huge relief it now brings to commuters and businesses.
“Until now, you could spend days on this road to get to Iruekpen, but today it will only take you 45 minutes because the road is now smooth and better,” the governor declared.
He attributed the significant improvement to Edo State’s alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which, according to him, has opened doors for sustained infrastructural projects across the state.
“Edo State is enjoying massive infrastructural development because we keyed into the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu. His love for the people of Edo State has ensured that we receive the dividends of democracy through practical governance,” he added.
Governor Okpebholo emphasized that his administration is built on practical governance, visible development, and people-centered projects.
“My administration has embarked on practical governance that everyone will see, feel, and experience. With this road now in good shape, our people will continue to benefit from improved infrastructure and good governance,” he stressed.
He also thanked the people of Edo for their support and assured them of more life-changing projects across the three senatorial districts.
“I get my strength to work tirelessly from the people because they are the reason I am here today. Before I became governor, I knew why I wanted this job — to serve my people and make their welfare my priority,” Governor Okpebholo stated.
A representative of the construction firm, Engr. Bajwa Mohd, confirmed the impact of the intervention, noting that travel time from Benin to Ekpoma has drastically reduced and commuters now enjoy smoother, faster trips.
Governor Okpebholo’s administration continues to prioritize road infrastructure across Edo State, with the progress on the Benin-Ekpoma-Auchi Road standing as a shining example of this commitment.
