An unspecified number of students from Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School in Askira-Uba Local Government Area of Borno State are feared abducted after armed Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists invaded their school early Friday morning.
The attack occurred in Mussa, a remote village bordering Sambisa Forest, a known hideout for terrorists. Sources reveal the insurgents arrived on motorcycles, striking about 10-15 minutes after troops left the community.
Rt Hon. Abdullahi Askira, Deputy Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, confirmed the attack, stating, “Yes, I can confirm that some suspected terrorists riding on motorcycles invaded primary and junior secondary schools in Mussa village this morning. Many students fled into the bush, but details of those abducted are still sketchy
The incident has sparked concern, with Askira noting the attackers likely monitored troop movements before striking. Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer were unsuccessful
