Boko Haram insurgents have taken over five communities in Rafi and Shiroro
Local Government Areas of Niger state. This was disclosed in a report by a government official in the state.
The Secretary to the Niger State Government, Alhaji Ahmed Matane, disclosed this in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) in Minna, the state capital on Monday.
He stated that the Boko Haram insurgents have taken full charge of Hanawanka ,Madaka ,in Rafi LGA and Kurebe,Gussau, and Farina Kuka communities in Shiroro Local Government Areas.
This has made the rural dwellers to migrate to safer communities. He also stated adequate security measures have been put in place.
”We have spent over N2 billion on the security agencies in the ongoing fight against banditry, kidnapping and other criminal activities in the last two years.
He added: ”We will continue to accord priority attention to the welfare of security personnel deployed to enable them wipeout all those involved in the illegal acts for peace, progress and political stability.”
