Attention killings have now shifted to all major Express roads linking Benin city as suspected bandits are now unleashing mayhem on innocents travelers on the various routes. Benin-Auchi road and that of Lagos road is the worst hit. Just today 20 November 2020, all passengers of a popular transport company traveling to Abuja from Benin were kidnapped and the driver reportedly killed. The chairman of Esan Central local government area, Prof. Waziri Edokpa was kidnapped along Benin-Ekpoma road. The whereabouts of all the kidnapped victims are unknown as of press time. Local Government council chairmen from Edo south are presently in a closed-door meeting with the Edo state Commissioner of Police, Johnson Babatunde Kokumo. Some observers said the security meeting is aimed at finding a lasting solution to the current increase in the crime rate in the state. The people are now appealing to the police authority to deploy the mobile policemen recently posted to Edo state
