Edo State Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress, Chief Odion Olaye yesterday led other members of the congress to commiserate and present cash gift on behalf of the NLC to the widow of the former NLC chairman Mrs. Gloria Osayande.
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP chieftain and former Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers Union, Chief Olaye whose position has been ratified as substantive Chairman of NLC described the late Sunny Osayande as a jolly good fellow who would be missed by all.
While assuring the Widow of all necessary assistance, the NLC chairman said she should be reassured that she would be there in their prayers/
“It is our prayer that the lord will continue to comfort you and the family with the strength to sail through without Comrade Sunny your dear husband.
The NLC chairman in an interview with newsmen advised workers in the state to observe the workers day tomorrow with a sense of patriotism because they are the engine room of the government.
“The labour day is important to make us realize the role of workers in the social economic development of our nation and the state in particular. The day teaches us to be grateful for our privileges as workers and the day should be dedicated to the workers who work hard.
“As workers, we should be very concerned about our health and abide by all safety standards in and out of our work place,” he advised.
