The Ojuromi of Uromi, His Royal Highness, Anselm Eidenojie 11 has conferred a chieftaincy title on Dr. Onoho’Omhen Onomuze’Egba Ebhohimhen for his commitment to community service.

Shortly after the conferment of the Chieftaincy title, at the Palace of the Ojuromi  of Uromi at Uromi,  Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State, Dr. Ebhohimhen disclosed that he was excited to be called upon to support the development of his community, noting that this is a call for duty  for the greatness and development of the land of his birth.
“I feel honored that Ojuromi has considered me  one of the best talents to be called to serve the community of my birth. One major challenge I have found out in our community and many other communities in the country is the state of disorganization and the state of chaos in these communities.
“It is not too late to tackle such malaise  and it is our duty and responsibility to place all our energy, all our knowledge, all our talents at the disposal of the land of our birth. There is one passion I am nursing  and I hope I will obtain the approval of the traditional ruler of my town to work on it  to reorganize and develop the town
“We must work for the development of our community, we certainly have to work for a better planned internal growth projection and have a trajectory that is sustainable, not only for this generation, but also for future generations, so that they have a town they are proud of.  We are a great town of warriors, we are a great town of entrepreneurs, a great town of excellence and we should not regress,” he added.
Dr. Ebhohimhen’s dedication to the service of humanity did not go unnoticed in the eyes of the traditional ruler of Uromi, who decided to honour him with the chieftaincy title of the Ojietemon of Uromi.
Born into the lineage of Okoko in Idumun Okoko , Imiomuza community, Obinyon Uromi, Dr. Ebhohimhen’s journey has been a relentless pursuit of excellence, coupled with significant contributions to the community, leading research teams with cognate experience in public administration and mentorship of a substantial group
With an academic career spanning over three decades, he stands as a towering figure in the realm of academia, an erudite and prolific scholar whose unwavering dedication to imparting knowledge has left an indelible mark on the landscape of higher education in Nigeria.
Dr. Ebhohimhen is not only a dedicated scholar but also a community oriented individual and his passion for community engagement is evident through his willingness to lend a generous helping hand to those in need. Even amid intense research activities, this  scholar finds time to contribute to the betterment of his community.
As a President of the Uromi Youth Movement between 1996 and 1998, he led a team that restored the Movement to vibrant activities, conceptualized and began the projects to write a definitive history of Uromi and created the platform  for the reward of excellence in service and professions for people of Uromi origin.
On the renewed quest for the creation of Afemesan State in 2009, HRH Anslem Eidenojie 11, the Ojuromi of Uromi directed Dr. Ebhohimhen to represent his interest in the commitee  and one of the major tasks of the committee was to select a proposed state capital for Afemesan state.
The rigorous exercise was undertaken with visits to all the local government headquarters and in the end, Uromi emerged as the preferred host of the Afemesan State capital with 867 votes to Auchi’s 760 votes.
The Chieftaincy title ceremony was attended by Scholars, friends and relations including a delegation of the Uromi Peoples Movement led by the President, Hon. Victor Okoduwa,
