Controversy Surrounding Testimony at Dunamis International Gospel Centre

In a video that circulated online, Anyim claimed to have graduated with a “Bsc in Law” from the National Open University of Nigeria. However, Enenche disputed her claim, stating that there was no such degree as “Bsc in Law” and asked her to leave the pulpit.

The incident received widespread attention on social media, with netizens demanding an apology from Enenche. However, Anyim, in a post on her Facebook page, stated that she had no grudge against the church and had put the situation behind her. She also shared photos of a meeting she had with Enenche and his wife, Becky, expressing her commitment to serving God as a member of Dunamis Church.

In response to the controversy, the church released a statement explaining that concerns were raised about Anyim’s language proficiency and the clarity of her academic credentials during her testimony. The church noted discrepancies in her speech and the nature and duration of her academic pursuit, raising doubts about the legitimacy of her qualifications.

The church clarified that Enenche’s actions were driven by a commitment to upholding standards of excellence and integrity within the church community. They expressed regret for any inconvenience, hurt, and embarrassment caused to Anyim and reaffirmed their support for her physical welfare and spiritual growth.

Photos confirming that Anyim graduated from the National Open University of Nigeria were later discovered on her Facebook page and shared online.

In her own statement, Anyim lamented the treatment she received, expressing disappointment that she was labeled a liar by her spiritual leader due to her language skills and a mistake in stating her degree as “B.Sc” instead of “LLB.” She clarified that she graduated with a Third Class from the National Open University of Nigeria and called for others not to look down on anyone.
