A Federal High Court in Kaduna will rule today on the bail application of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, who is facing a 10-count charge bordering on alleged conversion and possession of public property, as well as money laundering. El-Rufai was brought to court under tight security for the continuation of his trial.
In a separate development, a Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed June 17 to hear El-Rufai’s N1 billion fundamental rights enforcement suit against the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and others. El-Rufai is challenging the legality of a search warrant used to authorize a search of his residence, alleging that it was invalid and violated his right to privacy.
