The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has resumed petrol (Premium Motor Spirit) sales after a week-long suspension. The new ex-depot price is ₦850 per liter, a ₦30 increase from the previous ₦820.
This ₦30 upward adjustment, effective Thursday, has raised concerns about a potential nationwide rise in petrol pump prices.
The revised pricing was revealed as loading operations resumed at the refinery in the Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lagos.
The week-long suspension of petrol sales was reportedly triggered by an internal memo from the Dangote Refinery, instructing marketers to cease all payments for fuel loading.
While the refinery has yet to officially announce the price adjustment, industry insiders suggest it’s likely a response to recent fluctuations in global crude oil prices.
This move has contributed to ongoing concerns about fuel pricing and market stability across the country.
