Demolition: Court grants Benin palace secretary, others bail

The Edo State High Court sitting in Benin City has granted bail to Frank Irabor, Secretary, Benin Traditional Council, and four other accused persons arrested and remanded over the alleged demolition of some buildings in Ulegun village, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of the State.

Justice Mary Itsueli granted the bail applications of the persons in the sum of N1,000,000 each with a surety each in like sum after listening to applications filed by Olayiwola Afolabi who appeared on behalf of Frank Irabor and others.

The accused persons include Frank Irabor, Aghavbere, Osawemwenguan, Abel Oko-Oboh, Ode Uloko, and Oko-Oboh Ebosele.

The court ruled that the sureties must be gainfully employed, a house owner, and must appear in court on every adjourned date, which is yet to be fixed.

Justice Itsueli granted bail to the accused persons after listening to applications filed by Mr. Olayiwola Afolabi for Frank Irabor and others.

Earlier, Mr. Odabi Kingsley, director, of the Department of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in the Edo State ministry of justice, did not oppose the bail application.
