Diamond Platnumz Posts Mystery Woman Days After Zuchu Announces Divorce

Tanzanian music stars Diamond Platnumz and Zuchu have confirmed the end of their six-year relationship, just days after speculation about their split dominated social media.

The announcement came from Zuchu on Sunday, followed 48 hours later by Diamond posting a photo of an unidentified woman on his Instagram Stories. The timing has fueled intense discussion online about what comes next for two of East Africa’s biggest music acts.

Zuhura Othman Soud, known as Zuchu, addressed fans directly in an Instagram Stories post on Sunday. She said she and Diamond, whose real name is Naseeb Abdul Juma, are now separated and going through divorce proceedings.

“My husband and I are now separated and going through a divorce,” she wrote. “After six years of being together, I have finally decided to choose myself. I wish Naseeb Abdul and his family all the best. As for me, I need time to heal, focus on my health and continue with my work and music.”

Her statement ended weeks of rumors about trouble in the relationship. The speculation intensified after Zuchu was notably absent from the birthday celebrations of Diamond’s mother, Sandra Kassim, popularly known as Mama Dangote. In the days before her post, unverified claims from a close associate of Diamond also suggested Zuchu was pregnant. She did not address those claims in her announcement.

Less than two days after Zuchu went public, Diamond shared a photo on his Instagram Stories of a woman whose face was not fully shown. He captioned it “Natulizana,” a Swahili phrase meaning “we are at peace.” He did not name the woman or give further details.

The post immediately went viral. Fans linked the timing to Zuchu’s announcement and flooded the comments with questions about whether Diamond had already moved on. As of now, Diamond has not made a direct public statement responding to Zuchu’s post about the divorce.

The post also drew a reaction from Zari Hassan, Diamond’s former partner and mother of two of his children. Zari publicly praised Zuchu for the way she handled the announcement, calling it mature and dignified.

Diamond and Zuchu’s relationship has been one of the most talked-about in East African entertainment since romance rumors began in 2021. That was the same year Zuchu signed to Diamond’s record label, WCB Wasafi.

The pair confirmed their relationship publicly and became a fixture at concerts, award shows, and on social media. Their history has included several public breakups and reconciliations.

In july 2026, Zuchu announced they had split, only for the two to get back together weeks later. By June 2025, Diamond was referring to Zuchu as his wife in public appearances, following reports of a private Islamic wedding ceremony.

Both artists are among the most commercially successful musicians in the region. Diamond founded WCB Wasafi and has helped launch the careers of multiple Tanzanian stars. He is also known for high-value endorsement deals and sold-out concerts across Africa and the diaspora.

Zuchu, the daughter of veteran taarab singer Khadija Kopa, has built her own profile as one of the continent’s most recognizable female artists. Her hits include _Sukari_, _Kwikwi_, and _Napambana_. She has also secured major brand deals and international collaborations since joining WCB Wasafi.

With the divorce now confirmed by Zuchu, attention has turned to how both artists will navigate their careers and public image going forward. Both remain signed to WCB Wasafi, and have upcoming music and tour commitments.

Zuchu said her priority now is healing and music. Diamond, meanwhile, has kept his message brief, posting only “we are at peace” alongside the photo of the mystery woman.

Whether that signals a new relationship or simply a statement of moving forward remains unclear. What is clear is that the couple who dominated Tanzanian pop culture headlines for six years are now going their separate ways.
