Edo CP Visits Okpella After Killing of NSCDC Operatives, Abduction of Chinese National

The Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, CP Monday Agbonika, fdc, on Friday paid an on-the-spot assessment visit to Okpella, Etsako East Local Government Area, where eight operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were killed and a Chinese national abducted.

Commiserating with the Edo State Command of the NSCDC, CP Agbonika described the attack as a dastardly act that would not go unpunished. He pledged that the Command, working in synergy with other security agencies, will ensure the perpetrators are tracked down and brought to justice.

Speaking during a meeting with members of the Chinese community at BUA Cement, Okpella, the Commissioner assured that intensified operations were ongoing to rescue the abducted expatriate safely. He further disclosed that additional security deployments had been made in the area to forestall a recurrence.

The CP appealed for calm and urged residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information to aid ongoing operations.

“The Edo State Police Command remains steadfast in its duty to protect lives and property and will not relent until criminal elements threatening the peace of the State are identified and made to face justice,” Agbonika stated.
