The Edo State Head of Service HOS), Anthony Okungbowa Esq. has commiserated with the family of the Late Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC), Edo State Council, Comrade Sunny Osayande who passed-on Saturday, January, 22, 2022.
In a condolence message, the HOS recalled that he had a conversation with the late NLC Chairman penultimate week and had enquired about the state of his health.
He also recalled that late Osayande was quite upbeat about his recovery and, “I prayed for him and wished him well; little did I know that, that would be our last discussion,” Okungbowa noted.
He described the late Osayande as “an outstanding labour leader; non-confrontational, but dogged and resolute; an expert in dispute resolution, firm in conviction and approach, but extremely peaceful.”
According to him, “the Late Osayande was a stabilizer in times of crisis who had a unique and uncommon way of dousing tension in difficult and tensed circumstances.”
The HOS added that Osayande’s contributions to industrial peace and harmony in Edo State were immense and would remain indelible.
While praying God Almighty to grant the family of Osayande and the organized Labour in the State the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, he said that Osayande would be greatly missed.
