Edo Police Accused of Negligence in Handling Murder Case by Grieving Man

Yusuf Abubakar, a user on X (formerly Twitter), has raised allegations against the Edo State Police Command, claiming negligence in the pursuit of justice for his cousin, Isiyaka Musa. According to Abubakar, the hunters shot and set Musa ablaze during his herding activities, leading to his untimely death. Despite reporting the case to the Edo State Police Command, Abubakar expressed frustration, accusing the police of making no effort to apprehend the alleged perpetrators. Additionally, he claimed that the suspects were issuing threats to his family.

In his tweets, Abubakar appealed for justice and highlighted his family’s peaceful history as Fulani herders residing in Edo for over 40 years. He emphasized their commitment to lawfulness and called for intervention from security agencies and well-meaning Nigerians.

In response, Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, Chidi Nwabuzor, assured that an ongoing investigation aimed to uncover the truth, with further information to be disclosed upon the conclusion of the inquiry.
