The Edo State Commissioner of Police, CP Monday Agbonika, fdc, on Thursday, August 7, 2025, hosted the Executive Members of the Association of Mobile Money and Bank Agents in Nigeria (AMMBAN) in his office to address security concerns affecting their members.
During the meeting, areas of collaboration were identified, with AMMBAN executives pledging readiness to work closely with the Police in tackling threats against Point-of-Sale (POS) operators.
In light of recent reports of criminal attacks on POS agents in the state especially in isolated or poorly secured locations the Command has issued a security advisory to operators and the public:
Security Tips for POS Operators
1. Location Matters: Operate in well-lit, busy areas; avoid secluded spots.

3. Stay Alert: Watch your surroundings; report suspicious movements.
4. Install Surveillance: Use CCTV where possible to monitor and deter criminals.
5. Secure Entry/Exit Points: Control access to your premises.
6. Avoid Night Operations: Limit working hours in insecure areas.
