The Edo State Police Command has intensified its fight against criminal activities across the State, with multiple enforcement operations yielding significant breakthroughs in the past week. These include the rescue of kidnapped victims, arrests of armed robbery suspects, and recovery of dangerous weapons.
1. Kidnap Victim Rescued in Idumobi
Community On November 29, 2025, operatives of the Irrua Division, in collaboration with the Edo State Security Network and local hunters, successfully rescued 52-year-old Rose Aigbokhan, who was abducted while working on her farm in Idumobi.
The rescue team came under attack from the kidnappers, leading to an exchange of gunfire. One of the assailants was neutralised, and a locally made shotgun and cutlass were recovered. The victim was rescued unharmed, while efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects.
2. Armed Robbery Suspects Nabbed in Iyamho
Following a robbery report, police operatives in Iyamho swiftly apprehended two suspects, Emmanuel Osigbehe (22) and John Victor (24), linked to the armed robbery of Godwin Anthony on November 27. A laptop, Android phone, and the locally made shotgun used in the crime were recovered. The third suspect escaped and is currently being pursued.
3. Two Kidnap Victims Rescued in Iyamho Axis
In a separate joint operation involving the Iyamho Division, 60 PMF, Edo State Security Corps, vigilantes, and local hunters, two brothers, Abraham (25) and Jessy (19), were rescued from a forest hideout after being kidnapped.
The kidnappers fled upon confrontation, abandoning the victims. Both individuals have been reunited with their family, and a manhunt is underway for the fleeing suspects.
The Edo State Police Command urges residents to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities. The Command remains committed to safeguarding lives and property and ensuring that all criminals are brought to justice.
