Edo Police don Catch Four Suspected Kidnappers,and one Islamic teacher for Charm Matter.
Edo State Police Command don arrest four people wey dem suspect say dem dey do kidnapping, plus one 52 year old Islamic teacher, Jubril Ibrahim, wey police accuse say e dey prepare charms for people wey dey involved for kidnapping business for Edo North.
Police parade the suspects on Tuesday for Edo State Police Command headquarters, together with six other suspects, as part of the command effort for fight kidnapping and other criminal activities for the state.
According to Edo State Commissioner of Police, Patrick Daor, the four suspected kidnappers dem catch for Niger State after police gather intelligence and carry out operation against their alleged criminal network.
Police also accuse Jubril Ibrahim say e dey prepare charms for suspected kidnappers wey dey operate around Auchi, Jattu and Okpella areas for Edo North Senatorial District.
But Ibrahim deny the allegation. According to am, e only pray for one of the suspects after the man mama come meet am because she worry say her son dey travel often and she want prayer for protection and safety.
The arrests come as security agencies continue to intensify operations against kidnapping networks for Edo State, especially for areas where residents, travellers and people for rural communities don face security threats.
Earlier for 2026, Edo Police Command report say their intelligence led operations don lead to the arrest of suspected kidnappers, recovery of firearms and rescue of kidnapping victims.
However, police allegation against the suspects still dey under investigation. Arrest no mean say person don guilty of crime, and any suspect get right to fair hearing and due process for court.
