In keeping with Governor Godwin Obaseki’s health sector reforms, the Edo State Government has begun recruiting over 700 healthcare practitioners to bolster its primary healthcare system.
During the computer-based test at the Edo State Secretariat Complex in Benin City, Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency Executive Secretary Omosigho Izedonmwen told journalists that 720 professionals, including doctors, nurses, community extension workers, and administrators, will be hired.
“About 720 individuals are joining the main healthcare development agency,” he added. Doctors, nurses, community extension workers, and administrators are all recruited.
The recruiting process begins with this computer-based exam. They must be computer proficient since the principal healthcare development agency will be technology-driven.”
The Executive Secretary continued, “Those who beat the threshold will, one week from today, go for an oral interview and will be put in at most three weeks.” The goal is to have them on board by April.”
“We already have 497 primary healthcare centres in Edo State and this administration is committed to having at least one functional primary health centre in one ward to make a total of at least 192 fully functional centres with all the infrastructures, technology, personnel and resources ready,” Izedonmwen said.
