Edo State Government Appoints New Executive Director of EDOFEWMA

The Edo State Government has announced the appointment of Arch. Fashanu Emmanuel as the new Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Edo State Flood, Erosion and Watershed Management Agency (EDOFEWMA).

 

According to an official statement released on July 28, 2025, and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., the decision was approved by the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo. Arch. Emmanuel takes over from Ahmed Musa Momoh, who has been relieved of the position.

 

The announcement emphasized that Arch. Fashanu Emmanuel brings a wealth of experience to the role, with over two decades in the field of architecture. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (1999) and a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Jos (2011). He is also a Member of the Nigeria Institute of Architects (MNIA).

 

The government stated that the new appointment takes immediate effect, signaling a renewed focus on addressing flood and erosion challenges within the state.

 

The Edo State Flood, Erosion and Watershed Management Agency (EDOFEWMA) is a key institution responsible for implementing sustainable environmental and infrastructure strategies to combat the adverse effects of flooding and erosion in the state.

 

With Arch. Emmanuel at the helm, the state government is expected to intensify its commitment to environmental resilience and infrastructure improvement.
