On Saturday, May 31, 2025, residents across Edo State actively participated in the monthly environmental sanitation exercise aimed at promoting cleanliness and public health. Obaland TV reporters were also on ground to cover the exercise, moving across various locations to monitor the environmental sanitation exercise.
The exercise, which commenced at 7:00 am and concluded at 10:00 am, witnessed significant compliance from citizens who engaged in cleaning their surroundings, including residential areas, markets, and public spaces.
In Benin City, the state capital, major roads such as Airport Road, Akpakpava, and Sapele Road were notably free from vehicular movement during the exercise hours, allowing residents to carry out cleaning activities without hindrance.
Officials from the Edo State Waste Management Board (EWMB) and the Environmental Sustainability Corps (ESC) were present in various locations to monitor the exercise and ensure adherence to sanitation guidelines.
The successful conduct of the sanitation exercise underscores the state’s commitment to fostering a clean and healthy environment for all residents.
