The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has recently made headlines with the arrest of Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, a controversial cross-dresser. The arrest was made in Lagos on Thursday night, and Bobrisky has since been detained at the Lagos Command of the EFCC.
Bobrisky’s arrest is related to allegations of abusing the Nigerian currency, spraying naira notes, and currency mutilation. These allegations come amidst a series of controversies surrounding the social media personality in recent weeks. The EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the arrest and stated that Bobrisky will be charged to court.

In a statement released by the EFCC titled “EFCC Grills Bobrisky for Naira Abuse,” it was revealed that the investigation was initiated following a video report of Bobrisky spraying and flaunting wads of new naira notes at a movie premiere in Lagos. Further investigation also uncovered similar incidents at other event centers and parties.
Upon receiving the invitation from the EFCC, Bobrisky voluntarily reported to the Lagos Zonal Command of the EFCC for interrogation and provided his statement. Once the investigations are concluded, he will be charged to court.
