Two individuals, Azees Agbaye (33) and Alaba Oke (45), were brought before the Chief Magistrate Court in Ado Ekiti District by the Ekiti State Police Commander.
They were charged with conspiracy and theft, accused of stealing 94 liters of diesel oil valued at N232,000 from a telecom mast in the Olat area of Adebayo, Ado Ekiti, on November 15 at 10:10 a.m. Additionally, on November 11 at 2:30 a.m., they allegedly stole cable wire worth N45,000 from the same location.
The prosecution, led by Celeb Leramo, asserted that the defendants conspired to commit the felony of stealing, violating sections 421, 295, and 302(1)(A) of the Criminal Law Vol. 1, Law of the Ekiti State of Nigeria 2021. The defense, represented by A. V. Ogunjobi, requested bail, assuring the court of credible sureties.
Chief Magistrate Saka Afunso granted bail at N25,000 each with one surety and scheduled the case for hearing on December 4.
