Escape juvenile prison Beccaria Milan: one of the 7 escaped turns himself in, 2 already taken

milan, 26 December 2022 – One of the seven escaped prisoners (three of whom were adults) was constituted from the “Cesare Beccaria” penal institution for minors in Milan on Christmas afternoon. The young man would have been persuaded to return to prison by his family. Since two others had already returned during the night (the first was found thanks to a report from the grandmother from whom he had taken refuge, and the other persuaded by his sister), four are now missing from the appeal, but their capture could be imminent. The reconstruction of what happened leads to the imaginary real film scenes: taking advantage of work in the institute, the seven would have climbed over the fence (the use of a sheet could not be excluded) thus going into hiding. Upon discovery of the seven escapees, a real tumult broke out in the juvenile prison, complete with mattresses set on fire and, it would seem, with four agents intoxicated by the smoke from the fires and who had to resort to medical treatment. The tension, at the moment, is maximum, with some areas of Milan guarded by the forces of order in search of escaped prisoners, while all the available agents have returned to service. The controversy surrounding what happened is inevitable: while the Minister of Infrastructure and leader of the League, Matteo Salvini, says he is “bewildered” by what happened, the prison police unions point the finger at the lack of personnel.According to the first reconstructions, the young inmates would have broken a wooden protection, which appears to be already yielding, of the construction site that has been active for years, and six climbed the scaffolding and then lowered themselves from a lower wall than the one surrounding the Beccaria Institute in Milan . One, on the other hand, to lower himself, as in the movies, would have used a sheet. When they decided to escape, it seems not in a preordained way, they were on the soccer field. Subsequently, some of the detainees staged a dramatic protest by setting fire to some mattresses and requiring the intervention of several fire brigade teams. By late evening, calm was restored.
