Father of Alleged Fake Federal Agency DG Breaks Silence, Defends Son Amid Presidential Villa Scandal.
The father of Adeniyi Adeyemi, the man accused of falsely presenting himself as the Director-General of a purported federal agency, has publicly defended his son, describing him as a well behaved individual and expressing deep sorrow over the allegations that have thrust the family into national attention.
Speaking after reports emerged linking Adeyemi to an alleged impersonation scheme involving a non existent government agency and activities connected to the Presidential Villa, the elderly father said the accusations were heartbreaking and inconsistent with the character of his son. He maintained that Adeyemi had always conducted himself responsibly and urged the public to allow the relevant authorities to investigate the matter without rushing to judgment.
The controversy follows the exposure of an alleged fake government agency, with security authorities investigating claims that the suspect falsely assumed the position of Director General and reportedly used the title in dealings with public officials and other individuals. The incident has sparked renewed concerns over the need for stronger verification systems within Nigeria’s public institutions to prevent impersonation and abuse of public office.
While investigations continue, no court has found Adeyemi guilty of the allegations. Legal experts have repeatedly emphasized that every suspect is entitled to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty in accordance with Nigerian law. Authorities are expected to conclude their investigations before any formal legal determination is made.
The case has generated widespread public interest, highlighting broader concerns about fraudulent representation, institutional integrity, and the importance of safeguarding public confidence in government agencies.
