Father of Kano Murder Suspect Demands Son’s Death, Calls Him ‘Useless to Society

The father of Umar Auwal, the prime suspect in the brutal killing of seven family members in Kano, has called for his son’s execution, describing him as “useless to society”. The victims include Fatima Abubakar, 35, and her six children, who were murdered in their home in Dorayi Chiranchi area of Kano metropolis.

President Bola Tinubu has condemned the murder, ordering an investigation into the incident. The Kano State government has taken over the prosecution of the suspects, with Attorney General Abdulkarim Maude assuring residents that justice will be served.

The police have confirmed that Umar Auwal has confessed to the killings, as well as a recent attack in Tudun Yola, where two housewives were murdered and their home set ablaze. The suspect’s father, Malam Auwal, has distanced himself from his son, alleging that Umar had previously killed his younger sister and plucked out her eyes.

“I don’t even want them to waste time on prosecution. Umar and his likes are supposed to be eliminated. They are not supposed to be remanded and fed with taxpayers’ money,” Malam Auwal said in an interview.Father of Kano Murder Suspect Demands Son's Death, Calls Him 'Useless to Society
