“FG Applauds Governor Zulum for Boosting Technical and Vocational Education in Borno”
The Federal Government has formally commended Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State for his robust initiatives to expand technical and vocational education across the region. The move, aimed at fostering youth empowerment and economic self reliance, has directly benefited over 3,000 graduates through skills acquisition programs and startup grants.
During a recent review of vocational training centers in the state, federal officials praised the integration of practical skills development with entrepreneurship support. The initiative equips young Nigerians not only with technical expertise but also the financial backing needed to transform their training into viable businesses, addressing unemployment and economic marginalization in the northeast.
Governor Zulum highlighted that the expansion of technical education aligns with Borno’s broader reconstruction and development agenda. “Investing in our youth is investing in the future of Borno,” he stated, emphasizing that vocational skills are critical to fostering innovation, self sufficiency, and regional stability in post conflict communities.
Analysts note that this program represents a model for other states grappling with unemployment and insecurity, illustrating the impact of combining skills training with tangible economic support. By equipping young citizens with both expertise and capital, Borno is setting a precedent in Nigeria for integrating education with enterprise development.
The Federal Government reaffirmed its commitment to supporting such initiatives nationwide, recognizing that vocational education is pivotal in bridging skill gaps and stimulating inclusive economic growth.
