FG Don Bring 200 Young Nigerians Come Inside Agric Innovation Push.
Federal Government of Nigeria don engage at least 200 young Nigerians from different groups to help push new ideas, technology and business opportunities for agriculture.
Hajiya Hauwa Liman, wey be Technical Assistant to the Vice President on Women, Youth Engagement and Impact, make di announcement for Arewa Agricultural and Innovation Summit wey happen for Kano.
She tok say di programme na part of government effort to move youth and women empowerment from only talking policy to real action wey fit create sustainable impact. According to her, government don listen to young people from seven states and three regions, collect their ideas and challenges, and now dey connect them with tools, networks and opportunities to turn their ideas into workable businesses.
Liman encourage young people make dem no see agriculture as only planting crops or keeping animals. She explain say agriculture get plenty other business areas like food processing, logistics, technology and other parts of the agricultural value chain.
Prof. Attahiru Jega, Co Chairman of the Presidential Livestock Reforms Implementation Committee, also stress say youths and women na important people for the future of Nigeria agriculture and livestock sector. He reveal say the five day summit train young agric entrepreneurs for areas including livestock, poultry, horticulture and fisheries, while participants dey receive mentorship and access to market opportunities.
Di summit also launch SHE FARMS Nigeria Project, wey aim to increase women participation for sustainable agricultural businesses.
Government officials say agriculture need to move from traditional subsistence farming enter modern, profitable and technology driven business, so e fit create jobs, improve food supply and contribute more to Nigeria economy.
