Five individuals have been arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Ota, Ogun State, over the alleged theft of Milo products valued at ₦25 million.
The defendants, identified as Temidire Ramon (35), Aminu Yusuf (26), Olusola Opadare (35), Oludayo Adeleye (38), and Amodu Jimoh (51), are facing charges of conspiracy and theft.
According to the prosecution, the alleged offenses occurred on October 13, 2020, in the Agbara area of Ogun State. The defendants are accused of stealing a full trailer of Milo products, comprising 44 pallets, which belong to Nestlé Nigeria Plc.
The court heard that the offenses violate Sections 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun State, 2006.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges. Magistrate O.A. Onagoruwa granted bail to each defendant at ₦500,000, with two sureties required in like sum. The sureties must be gainfully employed, reside within the court’s jurisdiction, and provide evidence of tax payments to the Ogun State Government.
The case has been adjourned to December 12, 2024, for further hearing.
