Police in Kwara State have detained five individuals suspected of involvement in the death of 46-year-old Lanre Adebayo, a Political Science graduate from the University of Ilorin.
The incident reportedly occurred on October 21, 2024, in the Ita-Elepa area of Ilorin West, where Adebayo was allegedly involved in an argument with local vigilante guards that escalated into violence, leading to his death. Among the suspects are a community leader, two vigilante security guards, and two others.
The police have confirmed the arrests and stated that the investigation is ongoing, with more details to be released following further inquiries.
