The Rivers State Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with the disappearance of Yahya Faruq, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving in Ikuru town, Andoni Local Government Area. Faruq went missing on Monday, October 14, 2024, after failing to return from his part-time job at a local company.
Faruq, who was posted to a secondary school in Ikuru town for his NYSC primary assignment, had also been working part-time at the LDM Chinese Milling Company. His disappearance was confirmed after he signed in for his shift but did not sign out, raising alarm among colleagues and family members.
The Rivers State Police spokesperson confirmed that four individuals had been arrested, and an investigation is underway. NYSC officials visited the Commissioner of Police to discuss the matter and were briefed on the ongoing efforts to find the missing corps member.
The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria expressed deep concern over Faruq’s disappearance, urging the public to assist in the search for him. Adding to the mystery, Faruq’s bag and phone were returned to his primary assignment at the secondary school by the milling company, further fueling fears about his whereabouts.
The investigation continues, and authorities are taking steps to ensure that the case is resolved and Faruq is located safely.
