Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on Sunday, February 15, 2026, joined the family of the late Charles Idahosa at a thanksgiving service held in his honour.

The Governor was accompanied by the Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Sylvester Aigboboh; the APC Esan Central Senatorial Leader, General Cecil Esekhaigbe (rtd); and other top government officials.
The thanksgiving service, which took place at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Benin City, witnessed a large turnout of political associates, family members, former media colleagues, friends, and well-wishers who gathered to thank God for a successful burial ceremony.
The late Charles Idahosa, popularly known as Charlie Tempo, was a former Commissioner for Information in Edo State and a chieftain of the APC.
He passed away on December 20, 2025, at the age of 72.
In his sermon, the officiating minister, Venerable Vincent Ayevbuomwan, urged the congregation to live upright and positively impact the lives of others, noting that death is an inevitable end for all.The cleric, alongside other ministers, offered prayers for the bereaved family and the repose of the soul of the elder statesman.
He also led prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, members of the Federal Executive Council, Governor Okpebholo, and his administration, asking God to grant them wisdom, guidance, and strength in the discharge of their duties.
Prayers were also offered for improved security, economic stability, and the implementation of people-oriented policies that will bring transformation and prosperity to Edo State and the nation at large.
