GOV OKPEBHOLO’S UNSHAKEN DRIVE TO RECOVER EDO STATE’S  STOLEN ASSETS

His Excellency, Governor Monday Okpebholo has expressed his profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing into law the bill establishing the Federal University of Sports in Edo State.

This landmark decision marks a significant milestone in the State’s commitment to expanding access to quality higher education and fostering intellectual growth.

“Today, we celebrate a victory for the people of Edo State,” Governor stated. “The establishment of the Federal University of Sports is a testament to President Tinubu’s dedication to advancing education in Nigeria.

This institution will not only provide opportunities for our teeming youths but also serve as a catalyst for socio-economic development in our State and the nation at large.”

Governor Okpebholo emphasized the critical role education plays in shaping the future of the State and reiterated his administration’s commitment to collaborating with the Federal Government to ensure the smooth take-off and sustainable growth of the new university.

He acknowledged the efforts of all stakeholders, including members of the National Assembly, traditional rulers, community leaders, and civil society organizations, who contributed to the realization of this project.

“This University is a dream come true for many generations of [State Name] indigenes,” Governor Okpebholo continued. “It will provide a platform for cutting-edge research, innovation, and the development of highly skilled graduates who will contribute meaningfully to our society.

We are confident that the Federal University of Sports will quickly become a centre of academic excellence, attracting students and scholars from across the country and beyond.”

The Governor assured the people of Edo State that his administration will work closely with the Federal Ministry of Education and other relevant agencies to ensure the timely provision of necessary infrastructure and resources for the University’s smooth operation.

He called on all citizens to support this noble initiative and contribute to its success.

“We are immensely grateful to President Tinubu for this invaluable gift to the people of Edo State,” the Governor concluded. “This University will undoubtedly transform the educational landscape of our State and create a brighter future for our children and generations to come.”
