Gov. Okpebholo Nominates Washington Osifo as Commissioner-Designate

BENIN CITY – Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the nomination of Hon. Dr. Washington Osa Osifo as a Commissioner-Designate.

The announcement was made in a government special statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., on Friday.

According to the statement, Osifo is an accomplished lawyer, administrator, and politician with extensive experience in public service. He holds academic qualifications in Law, Political Science and Public Administration, as well as Comparative Politics and Development.

The government noted that Osifo previously served as a commissioner in Edo State in various capacities and at different times, where he contributed significantly to governance and public administration.

Describing him as a respected political leader, the statement highlighted his commitment to community development, good governance, and leadership within the state.

The nomination will be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation in line with constitutional provisions.

If confirmed, Osifo will join the Edo State Executive Council as a commissioner under the administration of Governor Okpebholo.
