Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo will not be distracted from his commitment to building a New Edo by Arm Chair critics of the government.
The Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon Paul Ohonbamu who disclosed this in Benin City, said the government will not be distracted by unnecessary criticisms by Arm Chair critics of the government.
“In as much as we welcome constructive criticisms, the Senator Monday Okpebholo administration should not be criticized for problems created by the past administration,” Ohonbamu noted.
According to the Commissioner who was responding to a social media post concerning comments that the state government is responsible for the poor condition at the Federal Government Girls College, venue of the primary six exams, the Governor will not be distracted by unnecessary criticisms.
“The Governor has since swung in to action by renovating and constructing some designated schools across the state.
” Any criticism of failed or dilapidated infrastructure in our schools should be directed to the previous administration of Godwin Obaseki,” he noted
Hon Ohonbamu reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Okpebholo to provide solutions going forward, adding that, the government has been very responsive to providing a conducive learning environment for students, electricity for the rural communities and unlocking potentials of youths.
While pointing out that the government has built a solid socio-economic base, with the improved internally generated revenue that is now impacting the lives of the Edo people, from health care, education, environment, good roads transportation and security, etc, the Commissioner urged critics to also highlight the positive impact of the Governor Okpebholo’s policies and initiatives on the development of the state as well.
